Andre Colonge is a 30 hectare domain run by two brothers Laundry and Samuel, it was originally started by their grandfather. 7 of their hectares are in Fleurie and 18 are Beaujolais / Beaujolais Villages. Their straight Beaujolais is mainly on clay soils whilst their Beaujolais Villages is on granitic, sandy soils more similar to the terroir of Fleurie. The Beaujolais Villages vines are around 40 years old as are their vines in Fleurie. Serge Colonge’s sons Landry and Samuel are taking this lovely family Domaine to another level. Both 2015 and 2016 are super and their Beaujolais Villages, made from old vines, providing great value!

This appellation is the Beaujolais region’s standard bearer. This is an authentic wine that is the symbol of the art of living life well, and should be shared like a good mood.
The word alone sings of youth, spring and sunshine. Quite simply, the name BEAUJOLAIS comes from Beaujeu, once the capital of the region.
This appellation was classed as an AOC by decree on 12th September 1937.
Beaujolais is recognisable by its lovely red robe, its lightness, its fruitiness and its aromas of spring. It should be served at between 13 and 15°C (55 to 59°F).
Beaujolais Nouveau is vinified by whole-bunch thermo-regulated semi-carbonic maceration.
Maceration lasts an average of 4 to 5 days. The wine is released for sale from the 3rd Thursday in November and is best enjoyed in the 6 months following this date.
Beaujolais makes a great partner to mixed salads, cold meats, white meat and sometimes, fish in sauce.
