Founded in the late 1800’s, four generations of the Quaglia family have guided the business through more than a century of artisan production, modernising it where needed whilst cherishing the older, traditional methods of distilling. The distillery was established just after the Unification of Italy in 1871 between Monferrato and the hills towards Turin.
Antica Distilleria Quaglia Liquore di Chinotto
Very elegant and flavoursome on the palate and a liqueur of finesse, composure and vibrancy with an aftertaste of vanilla, rhubarb, dandelion and orange blossom.
This is delicious but a particular liqueur produced from the infusion of chinotto, which is a certain species of bittersweet orange which growns on plants similar to myrtle. The chinottos are always freshly handpicked and in order to obtain the sugar and intense aromas of the orange it is infused in alcohol for over 2 months. Once the flavours and aromas have been extracted the fruit is pressed and the remaining alcohol infusion is then matured in neutral containers for over 6 months.
