Antico Opificio Clementi China Antico Elixir
This liqueur is made from cinchona barkand root with some other medicinal herbs and aged in botti for 2 years after distillation with no additives or added colours. It was created in 1884 by Dr Giuseppe Clementi for its curative properties and has been produced by the family ever since then with the same secret recipe.
Ochre in colour, with scents of medicinal herbs and bitter leaves, fresh citrus and caramel notes, with a very long and lingering pleasant biter finish.
Cocktail Recipe: Ramos Clementi Fizz by Alessandro Rabolini (Bartender at Daphne’s Restaurant & Bar, South Kensington, London)
40ml Gin (Kinrara works well here)
20ml China Antico Elixir Opificio Clementi
20 drops Lemon Juice
3 drops Orange Bitter
1 Egg White
25ml Double Cream
Dry shake and pour on the rocks in a highball glass, top with lemonade and garnish with a slice of desiccated orange.
