Beavertown Gamma Ray APA 330ml Can
5.6% abv
Historically Beavertown was the old Cockney name for the De Beauvoir area of London, an area which was noted in Victorian times for its character and revelry.
With a name befitting it antics, Beavertown set up in December 2011 in De Beauvoir. However things never seem to stay still at Beavertown. Going from strengthen to strengthen, Beavertown have left De Beauvoir for Tottenham to move into a 50HL brewery.
They’ve been at the front of the move towards ‘tins’ or, to you and I, cans. With a Savvy approach to the production, labelling and the general innovation of beer, Beavertown are one of the UK breweries to watch.
Grapefruit, subtle hints of mango, kiwi. All this developing into a lingering flavour reminiscent of roasted sweet potatoes with a leafy fresh herbaceous tone. The bitterness is interwoven brilliantly, leaving the fleshy palate wiped clean and good to start again.
Great texture on the mid palate and were it not for the 5.6% alcohol, goes totally unnoticed, it’d be a super session ale. Every inch given by that 5.6% is used wonderfully.
