BenRiach 10 Years Old

43% abv

Bottled at 43% vol, the BenRiach 10 Years Old is Classic Speyside in character. The cask formula focuses on ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. This fresh, lively, fruit-laden single malt captures warm oak spices, green apple, dried apricots, peach and banana with subtle touches of aniseed, lemon zest and barley.
A fresh and lively combination of crisp, green orchard fruits, stem ginger and hints of tangerine mellows to creamy vanilla with a delicate note of mint and a gentle twist of citrus, all held together with a sweet barley back note.

John Duff had built Longmorn in 1893, and having achieved early success he decided he needed another distillery next door. In 1897, he built Benriach. Sadly, his timing could not have been worse. A downturn in the domestic market alongside the infamous Pattison Crash of 1899 saw the distillery close for 65 years after only operating for two.

Typical with many distilleries, BenRiach has changed hands many times over the course of its history. The Glenlivet Distillers took the reigns in 1965, then onto Seagram in 1978, and then Pernod Ricard in 2001 who decided to close it until 2003 when Billy Walker and two South African entrepreneurs bought it. It has been in the hands of Brown Forman since 2016.

Expect an abundance of pears and peaches in a glass of BenRiach with an elegant top note.
