Bodegas Murviedro was founded in Valencia in 1927, as the Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss Schenk Group, and has grown to become one of the most important wineries in the region. It has access to a wide range of both indigenous and international grape varieties, and produces a broad portfolio of wine styles. The company's philosophy is based on combining modern winemaking techniques with grapes from traditional vineyards - to meet the highest international quality standards, while maintaining their Spanish character and originality.
Bodegas Murviedro Fauno Cava
Fauno de Murviedro Cava Brut is made from 100% Macabeo, grown in the vineyards of Requena on the best quality soils that are exposed to long hours of sunshine so that the grapes reach their perfect ripeness. Following a cold maceration of the grapes in pneumatic presses, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 14ºC. In January a process called ‘tiraje’ takes place where the new wine is bottled and the second fermentation occurs in the bottle. The Cava is stored in ‘rima’ (special containers for holding the bottles in position) for 9 months.
