The Campervan Brewery concept brewed its head by mixing the elements I’m passionate about in life:
Classic VW campervans
The great outdoors
And of course, family life.
Not wanting to be restricted with my own brewery at this stage of the journey, I opted for the full conversion of my garage enabling me to hand craft small batches of beer. I also started the conversion of a 1973 VW campervan, appropriately named ‘The Hoppy Camper’ (or ‘Olive’ by my kids) capable of housing a fully mobile brew kit and equipped to dispense beer.
After a couple of promising first years, I decided to open The Campervan Brewery in Leith in January 2017.
The brewery hasn’t stopped growing since, with the opening of a taproom in August 2017 and the increase of our brewing capacity from 50HL to 120HL in 2019.
