The Can Sumoi estate is at the heart of the Penedés region. It dates back to 1645, and is situated at 600m altitude, overlooking the Serra de l'Home, with the Mediterranean Sea to the east. The ancient and unique soils here are planted with local varieties - 20 ha of Parellada and Sumoll, amongst 380ha of woodland.
Can Sumoi La Rosa 2018
A rosé with a distinct Mediterranean character and a touch of acidity making it fun and appealing. The aromas offer a pleasant sensation of wild fruit and citric notes with subtle and elegant floral tones bringing a clean definition. Captivating and fresh on the palate with a delicate volume. A blend of local varieties – Sumoll 50%, Parellada 30%, Xarel-Lo 20%
The indigenous grapes are grown by the Marles and Oliver families – on the Roser and Coma vineyards near the villages of Puidalber and El Rebato. They are hand-harvested according to the biodynamic calendar, then destemmed and gently pressed in an inert atmosphere. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at 16ºC, for 21 days, using indigenous yeasts. 4 hours maceration on skins to extract the delicate pink colour, and spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
