Founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri in the northeast region of Montalcino, the Casanova di Neri family today own around 500 hectares of farmland, of which 156 are dedicated to vines.
The family, now second and third generation, are renowned for having set the benchmark for Montalcino’s single-vineyard wines. Vineyard parcels are selected on the basis of maximum expressivity of terroir, fruit is harvested and de-stemmed by hand and a mostly underground winery incorporates low impact and gravity flow. The result is that Casanova di Neri’s winemaking style is one of purity and harmony, expressing some of the finest single vineyard sites in the region.

Soft juicy and pliant. Elegant and perfumed
91 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous,
A vintage with great balance. To the sight it shows a lively and bright red color. The nose explodes with small fruits, like red and black cherry. The palate is rich and elegant, with a thick tannic texture, and a long, persistent taste. It’s already very enjoyable but will reach its apex in a few years. They select the bunches manually before de-stemming and selecting the grapes with an optical selector. After that, spontaneous fermentation without added yeasts follows and maceration is facilitated by frequent pressing. Everything takes place in conical steel vats at controlled temperature for 18 days. 12 months in barrel
