Cavit is a leading co-operative in the mountainous Trentino region of northeast Italy. The winery began as a consortium of associated grape growers in 1950, with a dedicated winery at Ravina di Trento built in 1964. Today It unites 11 separate cellars and their combined 4,500 grape growers across 7,000 hectares of vineyard, to produce an impressively broad portfolio from an intriguing palette of indigenous and international grape varieties.

Cavit Mastri Vernacoli Pinot Bianco 2018
Delicate aromas of citrus fruit and white flower. The palate is rounded and textural with good concentration of citrus and stone fruit characters. Good length and crisp acidity on the finish with minerality and depth.
The 100% Pinot Bianco grapes are sourced from older vineyards on the higher slopes of the Adige and Laghi valleys, and the hills of Roverè della Luna. Average yields are 80-90 hl/ha. The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation and maturation in stainless steel. Pinot Bianco, like Pinot Grigio, is a pale-skinned mutation of Pinot Noir. It produces some of the most interesting wines from northern Italy, where it has been planted for over 200 years. It has a distinctive, refreshing style that sets it apart from the softer, more rounded Pinot Grigio.
