Maison Cazes, located in Rivesaltes, in the heart of the Roussillon region, between the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, was founded by Michel Cazes in 1895. Over the years, the domaine acquired neighboring parcels of land and, by the 1950s, it extended over 40 hectares. The first bottles of Cazes wine appeared in 1955. In 2005 the entire domaine became a certified Organic and Biodynamic estate, although it had been workign with the principles for far longer. In 2017 Domaine Cazes celebrated the 20th anniversary of its conversion to biodynamics. Today the vineyards extend over 220 hectares, covering all of Roussillon’s different terroirs and giving birth to outstanding wines every year.
Cazes Muscat de Rivesaltes 2010
15% abv
When young, it is best drunk cool at 8°C, to appreciate the full palette of aromas : a bouquet of citrus and exotic fruit, peaches and apricots. Delicious with desserts made with white fruit and vanilla. Laid down for ten years or so, the aromas metamorphose into candied fruit and oriental spices.
