Better known as the producers of Château Lafleur in Pomerol; Le Grand Village is the original home of the Guinaudeau family. The same team and equal level of detailed attention are dedicated to winemaking in this château in Fronsac on the Right Bank. This results in a red (Merlot/Cabernet Franc) and a white (Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon) wine which far outstrip their nominal Bordeaux Supérieur status, creating some of the most exciting releases in the appellation.
Chateau Grand Village Bordeaux Superieur 2018

Chateau Grand Village is located on the right bank, just outside Fronsac and owned by Pomerol’s legendary Chateau Lafleur.
Year after year this refined wine has proven it’s pedigree with incredibly polished, rich masterfully put together bottlings that age well over ten years+.
A true bargain from Bordeaux, which is a bit of a rarity nowadays.
“This has huge personality and is a wine to start taking serious note of. The fruits here are pretty dark, the Cabernet Franc really taking the lead, with more cool blue fruit than is usual with Grand Village, real grip and depth to the tannic hold and salinity through the finish. From the Guinaudeau family of Château Lafleur.” Jane Anson, Decanter Magazine, 92 Points
“Bright crimson. Really quite a heady nose. Rich and luscious but with good freshness. Much more sophisticated than most Bordeaux Supérieurs because there’s the richness on the nose but a dry, fine-tannined finish. Though it’s still quite dry on the end and is clearly made to age.”
