Colgin Vineyards ‘IX Estate Syrah’ 2013

15% abv

Vol- 75cl

The 2013 Syrah IX Estate may turn out to be better. It’s not as complex from a nuanced standpoint as the 2012, but it has possibly greater intensity than its sibling. Its blackberry fruit, charcoal, acacia flowers, grilled meats and beef tartare notes are all beautifully presented in a pure, succulent, opulent style. This is amazing sTuff, and a great example of a singular style of Syrah from Napa Valley 98pts, Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

Founded by Anne Colgin in 1992, Colgin Cellars has spent three decades crafting harmonious, profound wines from exceptional hillside vineyards in the heart of the Napa Valley.

After just 13 years, Robert Parker included it as one of the top 50 wine estates in the world.

Short maceration times, strictly reductive vinification in stainless steel and 100% new French oak aging form the hallmarks of the Colgin winemaking style and lead to wines that emphasize freshness, minerality and aromatic expressiveness.

The profound structure of these wines gives prodigious ageing potential.

In 2017, Colgin joined the rarefied membership of Vins d’Exception, including Ch. Cheval Blanc, Ch. d’Yquem, and Domaine du Clos des Lambrays and became part-owned by LVMH.
