Cu Bocan Signature

Vol- 70cl

Nose – At the beginning, aromas are of coconuts and cream with some botanic notes of parsley and coriander. The smoke slowly emerges, but only drifting past the nose. Leaving with a mesmeric mix of lime, grapefruit and tangerines with rich almond and aniseed.

Taste – Initially feather light, followed by a honeyed smoke; toasted almonds. The rich spice of cloves, cinnamon and star anise create an enigmatic elegance. Imagine a café latte with fresh chocolate shavings.

Finish – Light with a hint of sweet smoke.

Distilled at Tomatin Distillery in limited quantities during the cold winter months, Cù Bòcan is made with lightly peated Scottish barley creating a subtly smoky and surprisingly sweet spirit.

Cù Bòcan is Gaelic for 'ghost dog'. Legend has it that when distillery workers would head home after a long shift in the distillery, perhaps after imbibing in some cask samples, they would encounter a phantom hound which is said to haunt the village of Tomatin. Whilst we cannot attest to the authenticity of this, we can confirm that Cù Bòcan possesses light, ethereal qualities and is usually entombed within unusual casks.
