Domaine Belleville was established in Rully at the beginning of the 20th century in the heart of wine-making Burgundy. With 22 hectares of vineyards spread out from north to south Burgundy, its wines express a diverse range of characteristics from both the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. Domaine Belleville was purchased in 2017 by an American couple and group of international friends and partners who have since also acquired the Champagne house Leclerc Briant and Manoir Murisaltien in Meursault.
Domaine Belleville Les Parcellaires de Saulx Pernand-Vergelesses 2017
“Pernand-Vergelesses is one of my favourite places on the Côte de Beaune. The gorgeously-named Sous le Bois de Noël et les Belles Filles climat (named, apparently, after romantic conquests in days gone by) faces east on a slope at an altitude of about 260m. It ripples with huge potential and is one to find at all costs. It’s not giving a whole lot away right now: it’s tightly bound but clearly hiding generous layers of stone fruit and freshly cut herbs.” 93 points. Jane Anson, Decanter, May 2019.
