Established in 1948, Douglas Laing is a proudly independent, family owned Scotch Whisky business in its third generation. Over 70 years of heritage have helped them to deliver Whisky that is consistently fantastic quality. As all good independent bottlers should, Douglas Laing add nothing to their bottles nor do they take anything away.
Douglas Laing The Epicurean Tawny Port Finish
Douglas Laing’s The Epicurean Lowland Malt Scotch Whisky tells the story of a 1930s Glasgow man, a real cheeky chappy who was ever the life and soul of the party, and a real connoisseur of fine food and drink. A dram described as “city born and bred”, The Epicurean is a blend of some of the finest Lowland Malts; a marriage of the best that the East and the West of Scotland have to offer.
The Limited Edition Wood Series is based on the belief that the cask can the spirit up to 70% of it’s flavour, and so the globe has been scoured for the finest casks to showcase this. A single cask bottling of only 406 bottles, this has notes of fresh, juicy pears and a red wine warmth. The palate delivers an exceptional mouthfeel, bursting with waves of chocolate balanced with crisp green apples and lingering notes of sweet almonds on the finish.
