Established as a grocery business in 1895 in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, offering all manner of groceries from around the world such as teas, coffees, wines and whisky. Their appreciation of the rich tapestry of flavours they encountered led the founders, James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, to seek out and complement this varied stock with equally fine produce in the form of Speyside’s many and varied single malt Scotch whiskies. With the purchase of Benromach distillery plus an unparalleled stock of aged and maturing casks of single malt G&M are one of the leading whisky businesses in the UK.
Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Bladnoch 1990
52.3% abv
Matured in a single American oak hogshead for over a quarter of a century, this 1990-vintage Bladnoch was bottled in January 2019 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range. Floral lavender oil and fresh fruit aromas are quickly joined by sweet, buttery shortbread, apricot jam and meadow flowers. The palate offers delicate, refined notes of dark chocolate, lime, green apples and sweet toffee, before a fruity, malty finish, with lingering oak spice.
