Established as a grocery business in 1895 in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, offering all manner of groceries from around the world such as teas, coffees, wines and whisky. Their appreciation of the rich tapestry of flavours they encountered led the founders, James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, to seek out and complement this varied stock with equally fine produce in the form of Speyside’s many and varied single malt Scotch whiskies. With the purchase of Benromach distillery plus an unparalleled stock of aged and maturing casks of single malt G&M are one of the leading whisky businesses in the UK.
Gordon & MacPhail Speymalt from Macallan 2005
A unique bottling of Macallan exclusivley for Gordon & MacPhail, aged in first and refill sherry casks. A classic speyside. Candied fruit notes are strong on the nose, with hints of melted homemade toffee and rich brown sugar influences. The palate is fruity – candied fruits, some subtle ash and a touch of nuts.
