The Hesketh Wine Company is a small, family owned producer of high quality, yet accessible wines. It is run by Jonathan Heketh, the son of Robert Hesketh who was the business partner of the famous Peter Lehamann. In 1979, Robert Hesketh and Peter Lehmann started a small enterprise called Masterson Wines. This business was celebrated for saving many Barossa growers during the vine pull scheme of the early 80's, and went on to become the family winemaking dynasty of Peter Lehmann wines. Now forty years later Peter's son is chief winemaker at Hesketh. Rather than attempt to be all things to all people from one region, the Hesketh approach is to remain focused on the individual strengths of different South Australian growing regions.
Hesketh Wine Company Cabernet – Twist of Fate 2017
14% abv
Fruit for our Twist of Fate Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a selection of premium vineyards within the South Australian growing region. To accentuate the bright moreish fruit notes, and create a vibrant, aromatic style of wine, we have chosen to restrict the use of oak during fermentation.
Generous and ripe, but with a seam of spicy elegance which has been retained by not allowing the fruit to over ripen. Hints of cedary oak with dark berry fruits. Primary fruit and oak flavours are balanced neatly with natural acidity to provide a generous middle palate and persistent finish.
