Founded in 2013, Alison’s simple goal is to craft vibrant, balanced and exciting wines that reflect her passion for Italian food, life and wine. Armed with a degree in Biology, Italian and Masters in Viticulture from U.C. LA.Lepiane Wines La Gaviota 2019
Delicious pomegranate and cranberry crunch toned fruit. cherry smoke and warm blueberry-violet confit with a whisp of black ganite. On the nose, Nebbiolo’s dusty rose aromas are balanced by Syrah’s earthy side. This is a richly textured wine with plenty of fresh fruit on the bright end of the spectrum.
Wickedly contemporary Nebbiolo (60%), Barbera (15%) & Syrah (25%) co-ferment, beautifully clear to the eye and the palate. Lovely in every direction. Fruit comes from the Alisos Vineyard in the newly formed Alisos Canyon AVA. The name La Gaviota was inspired by the beautiful Gaviota coast which lies between Alison’s home and where she make her wines. This stretch of coast represents 15% of Southern California’s coast, yet contains approximately 50% of its remaining rural coastline. It is home to many rare, threatened and endangered species such as the monarch butterfly. A portion of the proceeds from this wine will go toward protecting this incredibly valuable ecosystem.
