Lady of the Glen Orkney 11 Years Old, 1st Fill Bourbon

63.8% abv

Vol- 70cl

DISTILLED 11th November 2013 AND BOTTLED 14th March 2025

The cask yielded only 203 bottles and it was bottled at natural cask strength 63.6%

This lightly peated distillate from the Northern Isles is famous for its heather honey character. Fully matured in a first fill bourbon barrel for layers of sweetness and vanilla.

One of only 2 malt whisky distilleries in Orkney helps to narrow down the identity of this mystery malt. Also as the only distillery on the archipelago that produces spirit with a smoky character, helps to narrow down even further. Fully matured in a 1st fill bourbon barrel providing lots of sweetness combined with a huge ABV of 63.6% combines to feel like Haribo Tangfastics whapping around the inside of your mouth, teeth and gums!

The taste revealed – pear tart, lapsing tea and runny honey.

Gregor Hannah acquires rare single casks from the Scotch Whisky larder to mature at his own discretion and release under his own brand, Lady of the Glen. Since launching Lady of the Glen in 2012, he is proud to have delivered over 1000 bottles of exceptional whisky worldwide. The process begins by identifying suitable single casks based on their quality, rarity, flavour and flavour potential. Wood management is a key priority for Gregor as he personally sources and utilizes the very best specialist casks from bodegas in Portugal, vineyards in Italy and Germany, as well as bourbon hogshead barrels from the US for more traditional maturation. Every cask is taste-tested prior to release by Gregor and bottled at cask strength with no colourings or chill filtering. The beauty of a single cask release is the way whisky matures, as unique differences in the oak and maturation conditions ensures no two casks are ever the same.
