Le Batistelle began in 2002, after many years of the Del Bosco family passing the fruit of their 9 ha of vineyard to a local co-operative. With holdings located in the territory of "Brognoligo" - and more precisely in the vicinity of Monte Castellaro, towards Le Battistelle, Valle delle Rugate, Tremenalto, Monte Grande, Monte Carbonare - these are some of the most traditional, pergola-trained, dry terraced parts of the Classico.
Le Battistelle Soave Classico Roccolo de Durlo 2014
13.5% abv
The Roccolo Del Durlo vineyard is situated on one of the best volcanic terroirs in all of Soave Classico. The main characteristics of this vineyard are its steep slopes, held together by dry-stone wall terraces made of basalt rocks, and its old vines, many of which are over a century old. In this idyllic environment, the Garganega grape conveys a kind of special emotion which cannot be found elsewhere.
After a cold skin-contact maceration of about 48 hours, the carefully selected grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 25 days. The wine matures on the fine lees, with frequent batonnage for 8 months.
