Lustau is one of the leading producers in Jerez. As well as producing their own sherries from the Solera Reserva range, Lustau has also pioneered the concept of Almacenista bottlings - choosing specific plots from the warehouses of small independent sherry maturers and bottling them separately.
Lustau Palo Cortado Peninsula
Manuel Lozano, the Lustau wine maker or “capataz”, makes the selection and Lustau bottles them, untreated, exactly as drawn from their soleras barrels. On each label of almacenista sherries the name of the producer, the style of the wine, the town where it has been matured and the number of barrels that make up the solera are all indicated to pay homage to these artisan winemakers.
Dark amber in colour, with tobacco and leather aromas in the nose, this rare style of Sherry wine, Palo Cortado, is intense, reminiscent of roasting coffee beans, spices and dark chocolate. Dry and very concentrated, this a wine gem of long and elegant finish.
