Michel Raynaud Corbieres ‘Clos Combe Long’ 2015
The Clos de Combe long is made up of 70% Carignan and 30% Grenache, grown on rocky calcaire soils. Michel produces around 160hl each vintage, but yields are a parsimonious 20hl/ha. Vinified in tank, it’s youthful, but fresh and extremely supple.
Rich intense purple-garnet colour, striking dark fruits and lovely acidity. Comes in at 14.5% vol… but dont let this put you off as it is a wine in perfect balance.
Michel Raynaud has run this family estate for some years now, based in the heart of the Corbieres appellation in Southern France. North-east of Carcasonne and West of Narbonne, into the hills in the village of Causes.
Although not certified, they do practice organic viticulture.
