Nals-Margreid (Nalles-Magrè in Italian) work with 138 growers who farm 170 hectares in 14 different areas. The vineyards are found stretching from the town of Nals, between Merano and Bolzano in the regions' North, to Margreid in the sunny South. The fruit provided by these growers (each with an average of 1 hectare) provides winemaker Harald Schraffl with the product from 14 of the most renowned areas in the Sudtirol. Elevations vary between 650 and 3000 feet and all benefit from the triple-whammy that the zone provides for quality viticulture: 300 days of sunshine, the protection of the Alps to the North combined with the warming influence of Mediterranean and big temperature swings between day and night.

Nals Margreid Chardonnay Cru Magred 2020
13.5% abv
Vol- 75cl
Mature notes of banana, pineapple and tropical fruit tease the nose. The sandy limestone soils, in which its vines root, give it a pleasantly fresh acidity, ripe fruit and remarkable structure, as well as the salty and fresh aftertaste of our Chardonnay Magrè.
The vineyards are located in Magrè, at the foot of a gentle slope, between 220 and 350 m above sea level, with a south / south-east exposure. The white limestone gravel soil has a high humus content. The grapes are harvested by hand. The must ferments for approximately three weeks in 30 hl wooden barrels, after which the new wine matures for another eight months on fine lees.
