WoodWinters L’Art de L’Exceptionnel Cognac 50cl 1993

56.3% abv

Vol- 50cl

This is one of the most exceptional projects we have completed to date. We found this cask at a Scottish distillery where it had been held for over ten years, having spent the first years of its life in Cognac itself. Through a most unusual turn of events – which I still do not fully understand – it made the journey to Scotland along with a sister cask and also a cask of Armagnac, and effectively became an early landed Cognac. Having bought these three stunning casks we then had to decide what to do with them. We took the bold step to bottle this, the first cask (codename Kenmay 1) at full cask strength and unfiltered. There are very, very few single casks of Cognac, and it is even rarer to find them at cask strength. We wanted to retain the inherent purity of this cask – perhaps due to its long slow aging in the company of its whisky brethren in the Highlands of Scotland for over half its life – but it is there for you to savour. The spherical texture, exotic spice and plethora of rich fruits are just the beginning. Sit down, relax and enjoy ‘L’Art de L’Exceptional’ – DW
