WoodWinters WoodWinters Meet the Makers Tasting (instore) BofA: Celler Alimara – 10th of June 2022 8PM

Vol- cl

“Alimara” in catalan, means “beacon”. And here we are thinking of the fire beacons that were placed on the top of hills to rapidly pass signals between towns and populations. We thought that a beacon was a good example of how we wanted to be seen, signalling the growing quality and variety emerging from this fascinating land.

This is something of a homecoming tasting as Ali our host was born in Bridge of Allan and was introduced to the joy of wine early by her parents. Andy’s (her husband) father was in the airports business and spent a lot of time in international travel, enjoying dinners served with great wines, and wanted his family to share the experience. This grew into a shared love of wine. To feed this love, Andy undertook a winemaking course from UC Davis, and the whole family embarked on obtaining various WSET qualifications.

Via a long path the family have now founded an estate in Terra Alta in Catalunya and the fruits of their labour are starting to flow. Join us at our bridge of Allan store and via Zoom at 8pm on June 10 with Ali & Andy McLeod as we share their story and a selection of these vibrant, exceptionally well-made wines.

The ticket price includes tasting of each of the wines below either in person or as an interactive Zoom tasting:

Llumí Blanc 2020
El Senyal Blanc 2019
Ambpells Brisat 2020
Llumí Rosat 2020
