Artisans Partisans Corbieres Boutenac Sans Detour 2023
14% abv
This wine captures the personality of Corbières with clarity and strength. Its deep color with ruby highlights announces a bold character. The nose is pure and expressive, offering ripe plum, kirsch, and red fruit aromas, lifted by notes of garrigue and tobacco. On the palate, it is dense yet silky, with savory fruit and a smooth texture. With no dominant oak, it retains freshness and precision through a long, clear finish with excellent drinkability. It combines the sunny charm of the South with remarkable finesse.
Sans Détour, meaning straightforward or without detour, captures the free and genuine spirit of Artisans Partisans. At the heart of Corbières lies Boutenac, a cru recognized as the appellation’s finest expression. Here, Carignan, the defining grape of the area, draws its strength from red sandstone soils and reaches a level of depth and structure rarely found in broader Corbières. Syrah and Mourvèdre flourish on sunlit slopes, adding spice and longevity, while Grenache thrives on terraces of rounded stones, where heat and drainage are perfectly balanced. These unique conditions give Boutenac wines their hallmark precision, elegance, and impressive aging potential, setting them apart from the rest of Corbières.
Carignan 50%, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah. Carignan undergoes carbonic maceration to highlight its freshness and aromatic intensity, while the other grapes are destemmed and fermented with native yeasts, without added sulfur. A gentle maceration lasting 12 to 18 days allows each variety to express itself fully. Blending takes place in the heart of winter, followed by careful aging: 50% in temperaturecontrolled stainless steel tanks to preserve purity, and 50% in 225-liter oak barrels to bring depth and structure. No fining is carried out, leaving the wine to evolve naturally and harmoniously.
