Working alongside Ian Macmillan (ex head distiller at Deanston, Bunnahabain and Tobermory), we have purchased over the years many casks for our own bottlings, delivering several award-winning drams. Recently were lucky enough to acquire a parcel of casks, again sourced by Ian MacMillan, in sufficient quantity not only for our own investment, but to have the opportunity to offer to select clients.
12yo Loch Lomond Grain whisky – 180 litres @ 60.3% – 25 available
Currently in refill Bourbon, they have a beautifully elegant, floral, appley style. They will soon be re-casked into first fill Bourbon barrels to accelerate richness, texture and more intense baked fruit characters.

Holyrood (New Make) – 250 litre First Fill Sherry Hogsheads – 50 available
As a distillery Holyrood are the most experimental and progressive in terms of looking at the nature of whisky and how it develops and matures from a scientific, historical and taste perspective. They have created a bespoke recipe using heritage barley (Chevalier + Dextrin + Cara) that makes a style of whisky of yesteryear, more for flavour rather than efficiency. They use Oloroso and PX casks as trial tests showed those worked best with this base of malt. They will also be filling at 60%. This is lower than normal but gives a better balance of flavour (higher strengths are more efficient, but the spirit matures more slowly and tastes younger than it is). Casks contain 250 litres and for the first two years will be stored at Holyrood’s bonded offsite facility. Thereafter storage will become chargeable (currently £55/year per barrel)
