Château Angludet is a vineyard in the Bordeaux region in the Margaux appellation, in the Médoc, on the left bank of the Gironde. Angludet is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc. It owes its name to the knight Bertrand of Angludet who built his home there in the 12th century. The vine was probably introduced at the beginning of the 17th century during the extension of the Gironde vineyard on the Medoc peninsula. The estate is managed by Benjamin Sichel who adopts biodynamics to produce great red wines with passion.
Chateau Angludet Margaux 2019
13.5% abv
Aromas of earthy red and black fruits, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate with a sweet core of fruit, ripe tannins and lively acids.
Produced with the old vines of the property, majority of Cabernet Sauvignon blends with the sweetness of Merlot, Petit Verdot represents an important part that allows a connection, a link between the three grape varieties, specific to Angludet wines.
The 2019 d’Angludet is the first vintage with partial aging in clay amphora (30%); around 35% of the barrels were new.Amphorae allow a gentle and progressive micro-oxygenation of the wine, comparable to a barrel but without the contribution of the tannins and aromas of the wood. Aging in amphorae helps to preserve the purity of the fruits.
