“Tasted from foudre, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin is approximately 60% Mourvèdre (from the same parcel, year after year), with the balance a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Counoise. Ripe plums and truffle-like notes mark the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and rich, with a long, velvety finish. Showing even more complexity and length than the regular bottling, there’s a chance this could reach a triple-digit score down the road. Always one of the highlights of my visits in Chateaneuf du Pape, the cellars at Beaucastel were a bit dusty when I arrived, as the long-awaited expansion had just gotten underway. Built using the latest practices in sustainability and conservation, it’s expected to be completed in 2024. The 2021 Syrah had just been picked, and the expectation was that the Grenache would be harvested beginning the following day. Something worth noting, although the family doesn’t actively promote it, is that Beaucastel’s farming has been certified organic since 1966, and the vineyards have been farmed along biodynamic principles since 1974 (although not certified as such). The 2019 Hommage à Jacques Perrin is simply stupendous, and not to be missed by serious collectors.As always, my visit here included a substantial lineup of the Famille Perrin wines from other appellations, which will be included in the next installment of my Southern Rhône coverage.” 97-99/100 Wine Advocate

“A blend of 75% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Grenache, and 5% Counoise, the 2020 Hommage a Jacques Perrin is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a lot of swirling to unlock notions of tar, chargrill, Sichuan pepper, and black truffles, giving way to a fragrant core of black cherries, boysenberries, and tapenade with a touch of rose oil. The full-bodied palate is firm with taut, rounded tannins texturing the densely laden black fruits and savory layers, delivering great freshness and loads of earthy layers on the finish of this beautiful wine.” 98 Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The 16th century Château de Beaucastel was acquired by the Perrin family in the early 1900s. With a global following for their benchmark Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the wines at this historic property are consistently among the finest in the region. Château de Beaucastel’s vineyards surround the estate which is near the town of Courthézon in the north-east of the appellation. A quarter of Beaucastel’s 100 hectares lie just beyond the appellation’s boundary and the fruit from the vines grown here makes up their excellent Côtes-du-Rhône: 'Coudoulet de Beaucastel'. In addition to prime vineyard holdings, the Perrin family are pioneers of sustainable farming, having converted to organic viticulture as early as 1950 and having farmed biodynamically since 1974.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
