Château de Pez Saint-Estephe 1986
13.5% abv
The 1986 Bordeaux vintage is regarded as one of the classic old-school Cabernet Sauvignon years: structured, tannic, long-lived and often austere in its youth. In Saint-Estèphe particularly, the finest wines have matured beautifully over time, although many required decades to fully soften. Numerous critics have noted how gracefully the vintage has evolved over the past decade, rewarding patience with complexity and depth in well-preserved bottles.
The 1986 Château de Pez is characterised by surprising freshness, spice and vitality, often punching above expectations with lively acidity and impressive persistence. Expect earthy, savoury aromas layered with graphite and cedar notes, alongside resolved tannins and mature tertiary characteristics of cigar box, leather and dried black fruits.
