Brothers George & Daniel Daou discovered the land that was to become Daou Mountain 10 years ago, the result of their search to find an unrivalled terroir for the production of Cabernet Sauvignon. What was then Hoffman Mountain Ranch vineyard and winery was the first gravity-flow winery in America and first commercial-scale winery in Paso Robles. Known affectionately as “Maestro” and “the dean of Americans winemakers,” then enologist Andre Tchelistcheff mentored a long list of legendary California winemakers. He revolutionized Napa Valley wine making by concentrating on high-quality California Cabernet Sauvignon aged in small French oak barrels. George & Daniel bring the same drive, passion, exactitude & intensity that led these one-time refugees from the Lebanon to forge success in the business world to the cultivation of this land. The estate stands alone at 2,200 feet and is a true contender for ‘first growth’ stature with its soils, aspect and climate. This is partnered with the skill of the brothers in their pursuit of excellence in the vineyard and cellar.
Daou Vineyards Discovery Chardonnay 2023
14.5% abv
Vol- 75cl
Created to exhibit how Chardonnay can excel in Paso Robles and often with a pronounced maritime influence. This lush and luxuriant Chardonnay presents tropical aromas of pineapple, mango and freshly sliced banana, with accents of nutmeg, vanilla, honeysuckle, and hazelnut. The palate is voluminous and silky, unfolding with elegant flavors of honeydew melon, golden delicious apple and lemon curd. Secondary layers offer hints of kiwi, papaya, baking spice and clover honey. A clean, lengthy finish lingers with essences of melon, mango, citrus and toasty oak.
Aged for 7 months in 30% new French oak
