The Deanston distillery sits on the banks of the River Teith, which is where the distillery draws it's water from. The waters of the River Teith are among Scotland’s purest. The distillery is housed within the remnants of a cotton mill built in 1785. A turbine and a dam makes this distillery electrically self sufficient. Deanston is typically bottled at 46.3% abv. The reason for this is that whisky bottled above 46% does not require chill-filtration as the high alcohol content does not allow for haze to form at low temperatures.
Deanston 12 Year Old Miniature 5cl
46% abv
Vol- 5cl
Just outside the town of Doune in Perthshire, the Deanston Distillery is located on the banks of the River Teith, which rises in the nearby mountains of the Trossachs. This is the historic centre of Scotland, close to Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and Bannockburn. The 12 year old is expressive and malty, with creamy toffee and heather honey notes. The palate is spicy and sweet, with a clean and dry finish. Non-chill filtered (“exactly as it should be”, says the bottle!).
