Founded in 1670, originally as Domaine Ferraud - Domaine du Pegau ( wine jug used in the 14th century during the papal period) is as classic and old school as it gets.
It is run by the father/daughter team of Paul and Laurence Feraud and assistant winemaker Andreas Lenzenwoger, who is responsible for the new special Cuvee A Tempo (a sensational white).
Domaine du Pegau owns 21 hectares of vines in Chateauneuf du Pape. 19.5 hectares are used for red wine grapes. 1.5 hectares of vines are reserved for growing white wine grapes. Due to the small size of the parcels used for the white wine grapes at Domaine Pegau, those grapes are farmed using 100% biodynamic farming techniques. The red wine grapes are not farmed biodynamically.
The vineyards of the domaine are located in many different areas of Chateauneuf du Pape in a total of 11 different parcels with the best vines located on the plateau of La Crau with some of the oldest planted in 1902.
