"Gertie is a means to make wine I love to drink! Stylistically there are no limits... no-one's restrictions, just my own. The intention is to produce delicious, drinkable wine. I have been making wine for 19 years now, so I've been through some boom times and some tough, but the one commonality is that I still love to drink great wine.
Gertie Cabernet Franc 2021
13.8% abv
Vol- 75cl
“Synonymous with Riesling and Shiraz, here the vineyards of Clare Valley in South Australia turn their hand to low-cropped Cabernet Franc. Forty percent whole-bunches were included in the ferment with wild yeast, before ageing in old French oak. Minimal sulphur was used. It’s a violet-scented, aromatic Cab Franc, a deep seam of blueberry beneath, and a swirl of smoky sappy, stony minerals on top. In the mouth that intense, spice and herb-flecked black fruit runs smoothly through to a tight, nicely delineated and long finish. Delicious and impressive.” 9/1/23, Tom Cannavan, Wine Pages.
Unfined, unfiltered, wild ferment, 4% whole bunch, vegan-friendly and delicious.
