Maison Sichel Selection Margaux 2021

13.5% abv

Vol- 75cl

This 2021 presents a dark ruby color with purple highlights. The youth and intensity of the color extend into the aromatic development, centered on fresh notes of black fruits, mocha and spices. In the mouth it presents a beautiful aromatic complexity. The palate is both harmonious and racy, but also suave and fresh carried by velvety tannins. A Margaux revealing a good aging potential redolent of all the typicity of this exceptional terroir.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon – 27% Merlot – 3% Petit Verdot

Vinified plot by plot, in stainless steel vats. Fermentation with temperature control around 26°- 28°c. There were 2/3 pumping overs per day during this period with on average 3 weeks of maceration. Then malolactic fermentation begins in barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 6 to 8 months in barrels, 50% of which are new. Only French oak with a soft and medium toasting and traditional racking every three months.

The original name of this property, parts of which date back to the 12th and 16th centuries, was La Salle d'Argadens. It became Château Argadens in 2002, when it was bought by Maison Sichel. Sichel's aim inacquiring Argadens was quite simply to see it express the full potential of its wonderful terroir and become one of the benchmark properties in the Bordeaux Supérieur category. To achieve this, the company has invested heavily in terms of finance, time and technology. Sichel's first vintage at the estate was 2002.
