" With the energy and vision of a new team, paired with a forthcoming state-of-the-art cellar, I would firmly place Tenuta Buon Tempo among the most exciting estates in Montalcino today—new in spirit if not in name. I look forward to returning in a few years to see how this evolution continues to unfold." Momica Larner, The Wine Advocate, January 2026 Tenuta Buon Tempo is located in the far southern corner of Montalcino, called Castelnuovo dell’Abate, an area with a unique vocation for winegrowing. The 26 hectare property is composed of vines, olive trees and woods and slopes down to the Orcia river on the border that marks the end of the appellation. In the early 1990’s, 12 hectares were chosen from the best area for planting vines. Farmed organically since the beginning of the project, the conversion was certified from 2018 after a few years of testing and seeing a consistent improvement in the quality of the fruit and the environment of soils, plants and air. These ambitious goals of proprietor Per Landin are applied with a combination of hard work in the vineyard, investing heavily in the cellar and thanks to the collaboration of a dedicated team guided by CEO & Winemaker Alberto Machetti, Enologist Fillipo Bellini and with the help expert consultants Attilio Pagli and Stefano Bartolomei.

“The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is wild, mixing tangerine zest with rose petals, wet stones, fresh-picked strawberries, stems and more. It possesses depths of dark red fruit and minerals, all buffered by a dense textural wave of pure silk. Sweet spices and cocoa hints create a push and pull of contrast through the finish as dusty tannins add a subtle tension. The 2019 is a pleasure bomb, yet balance is expertly maintained. This will only require a short stay in the cellar to show its best.” 2025 – 2032

Harvest carried out by hand, from the end of September onwards. Temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel and fermentation with indigenous yeasts; 4 weeks’ maceration. Maturation for 3 years in large (20 and 35 hl) Slavonian oak casks for three-quarters of the wine, and for the rest in 500 lt. French oak tonneaux, used once previously. Finally, the wine clears naturally by settling in stainless steel and is then left to rest for a minimum of six months in bottle before release onto the market.
Production: 16,000 – 20,000 bottles per year.
