Terra de Falanis Cava Tutum Ba

11.5% abv

Vol- 75cl

A subtle blend – elegant, precise and pure. You can find aromas of white flowers and nuances of dried fruits. The mousse is very fine and persistent to offer the classic characteristics of the top cavas. On the palate it is very fine, elegant, with delicious acidity that balances its powerful structure with a slightly salty finish as found in Mediterranean wines.

Indigenous grape varieties, purity in its elaboration, mediterranean influence & sensitivity in all its subtle nuances. Composed of the three classic Cava grape varieties from two geographical areas: Xarel-lo from old vines in Penedés, and the Macabeo & Parellada from vines at over 600 metres of altitude in Conca de Barberà. The base vinification is all done at lwo temperatures separately for each of the grape varieties. Mínimum use and impact of sulphur. After belnding the second fermentation takes place in bottlel with extended lees ageing for an absolute mínimum of 22 months. Zero dosage.

Cava TuTumBa is a play on words in Spanish. Cavar is the verb to dig & Tumba is a grave, so “Cava Tu Tumba” Therefore means to dig your own grave.!! When creating the label and image the idea was to make people stand up and draw their attention with the name (if you speak Spanish I guess!) and packaging, with a very high quality serious drop of dry, brioche like as close to Champagne style as possible fizz in the bottle. The elephant on his back falling makes the sound “TuTumBa” with the bubbles coming out if his trunk – prove he doesnt.
Ali Ba Ba was almost a famous elephant, where Pere (Joan a Mallorcan comic artist who also designed the Muac (The sound of a Kiss) and Bla Bla Bla (no explanation needed) labels) got his inspiration from!!

The Falanis project was created by the founders of Bodega Ànima Negra and is rooted with one foot on the home island of Mallorca and the other foot in the regions of Montsant, Penedès & Calatayud where wines are produced from old vineyards of those regions native varieties.

Terra de Falanis was the name used by the Mallorcan historian, author and artist Miquel Barceló to describe the village and people before the existance of the actual village Felanitx, one of the most important villages on the east coast of Mallorca, and home to Anima Negra. AN see the Falanis project as a way of extending the concepts and techniques that they have learnt, in other regions away from Mallorca, applying them further afield from their natural borders, discovering the fantastic possibilities in other denominations of origin.
