An Cnoc Limited Edition 30 Year Old 1975
44.2% abv
The Highland distillery of Knockdhu was built in 1877, marking the genesis of The Distillers Company (DCL), who would later evolve into industry giant Diageo. Used almost exclusively as blending stock, It didn’t become known as a single malt until (under the new ownership of Inver House) its first official expression was released onto the market in 1990.
After a short time, the rather wise decision was taken to create the brand name “anCnoc”, and while it’s pronunciation may not be immediately obvious, it had the desired effect of avoiding confusion with Knockando.
Spanish Oak and American Oak casks come together to create this fantastic vintage 1975 anCnoc, complete with modern and luxurious black and gold labelling.
Some thirty years ago, Spanish and American Oak casks were laid to rest in the traditional earthen floored dunnage warehouse of the Knockdhu Distillery. With time and crafting under the watchful nose of our Distillery Manager, anCnoc 1975 has matured into a finely balanced dram. Fruity on the palate with a slight hint of vanilla anCnoc 1975 offers remarkable depth and complexity
Colour – Amber with a slight yellow hue. Nose – Soft, very aromatic with a hint of honey and lemon in the foreground.Taste – Sweet to start with an appetising fruitiness and a long smooth finish.
