Delicat & elegant pale straw yellow with bright greenish tints and fine and persistent bubbles. Intense on the nose, with delicate scents of orange and lemon flower and ripe apple. On the palate it is dry, elegant with a pleasant acidity and nice aromatic persistence.

A selection of grapes from vineyards located on the Eastern and Southern slopes of Mount Etna. Located between 700 and 850 m a.s.l (2,300 to 2,800 ft a.s.l.), the vineyards are planted on sandy, volcanic soils that are rich in minerals, with a sub-acid profile. The vines are between 20 and 60 years old, and arranged in traditional bush vines (“albarello”) as well as in rows with Guyot training system. This is the very first and still extremely rare sparkling wine made from Carricante, the noble indigenous white grape of the Etna volcano.Grapes are hand picked and softly pressed without any de- stemming. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The wine is left to mature on its lees until late spring, when it is bottled with selected yeasts to induce the second fermentation. The disgorgement and dosage occur after 24 months. The wine then rests for at least three months.

The Benanti family, whose Sicilian roots date back to 1734, were true pioneers of Etna with Giuseppe Benanti being the first to realise the true potential for this unique volcanic region. Etna would not be what it is today, were it not for the visionary work of Giuseppe Benanti. The winery, which was set up in 1988 has, over time, sold off the lesser deemed plots of land and acquired further plots in the most prestigious slopes and Contrada. Now totalling 28 hectares, the winery only produces wines from Nerelo Mascalese, Nerelo Capuccio and Carricante.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
