The Runco de Onego Sforzato di Valtellina is made only in the best vintages. The Chiavennasca fruit is the first to be harvested and the healthy grapes placed in 3.5 kg crates in the loft to slowly dry for 3-4 months where they will lose 50% of their weight before being pressed. Fermentation is slow and lasts for months followed by aging in barrel for 1.5 years before bottling. These wines are rare, true artisanal products, powerful, intense, textural. They are an experience in their own right. Never overripe or baked these wines are intense and elegant, powerful and fresh.

Important. This is a bonded product and is priced exclusive of Duty and VAT. Wines must be purchased by the unmixed case. The case size is detailed in the Product Details. After purchase we will contact you to arrange either the wine's continued storage in a bonded warehouse as designated by HM Customs & Excise or for the payment of the pertinent Duty and VAT, where after delivery can be arranged. Transfer & delivery fees will be charged at cost.

Boffalora started in 2009 when Giuseppe Guglielmo took over his father-in-law’s precipitous vineyards in Valtellina. Located between two alpine passes to the North East of Milan near the Swiss border, the Valtellina has 2,000 years of viticultural history. The wines are made from the local Chiavennasca Nebbiolo biotype - mountain fresh, pure and focussed. His winery in a repurposed stable carved in the side of the slope . A believer in balance he is also a beekeeper and allows spontaneous crops to grow between the rows to ensure a good environment for both the vines and the bees. Giuseppe is a true artisan doing everything by himself and looks after 3ha of Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo) planted on steep terraced vineyards at altitudes varying between 350m and 700m. Vine ages range from over 70 years to more recent massal plantings and all are located in the Valtellina Superiore. Here plots are tiny, carved into the mountain side over generations. They are normally tended by part-time vine growers working on long-inherited plots and fewer than a dozen have amassed even a paltry 3ha. This is heroic viticulture where one person can struggle to farm 1ha rather than the Langhe’s 10. Giuseppe adds no sulphur to the fruit and fermentation is strictly with indigenous yeasts only.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
