Since its inception and several decades ago, Chêne Bleu has been recognised as one of the Rhône’s most distinctive voices, a pioneering Domaine, where Southern Rhône generosity meets Northern Rhone-style elegance and Burgundian winemaking precision. Their remote, high-altitude location underpins a fervent commitment to biodiversity, sustainability and regenerative viticulture. From La Verrière, the restored medieval priory in Crestet, Vaucluse, Xavier Rolet and his family and team forged a reputation for wines of prestige, authenticity and longevity that sit comfortably among the world’s fine wines.
Chene Bleu Le Rose 2023
13% abv
This is a trully remarkable rosé. Delicate with all the pretty red fruit you could hope for. It also has a beguilling texture that adds an extra dimension often not found in pale, southern French rosés. For a rosé, this wine displacys quite rich and intense flavouts of raspberry and redcurrant mixed with touches of pomelo grapefruit and lime. Floral hints lead onto a finish which is balanced and fresh, with a delightful fuit salad twist. This is one of the best rosés we have ever tasted.
Made from Grenache noir (60%), Syrah (15%), Cinsault (5%), Mourvèdre (8%), Rolle (12%). Grenache noir vines are between 20 and 70 years old, North-West facing at 530m. The Syrah is between 20 and 50 years old, South-West facing at 540m. The other varieties are around 12 years old. The soil composition is predominantly argilo-limoneux (clay and limestone), and is very stony. No synthetic treatments used. Organic wine (Ecocert).
