Berthelemot is a young domaine, created as recently as 2006, as a result of the merging of the mature holdings of the Jean Garaudet and Yves Darviot estates. As well as initial acquisitions in Beaune, Pommard, Monthélie and Meursault, in 2012, the estate purchased established plots in Puligny, Chassagne, and again in Meursault to meet the demand for its white wines. They now cultivate 15 hectares in the Côte de Beaune area (Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Beaune....). with a pledge to produce wines revealing the true quality characteristics of the land. Wines are certified "organic" from vintage 2021. The success of the domaine is down to the hard work and talent of its founder, Brigitte Berthelemot, together with her estate manager and winemaker, Marc Cugney. The vines are planted in limestone soils in very good sites at a density of around 10,000 per hectare, they are kept in top condition, and the team responds quickly to regular analyses of the soil and the vines in order to assess appropriate cultivation methods using the bare minimum of herbicides and phytosanitary treatments.

Domaine Berthelemot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023
13.5% abv
Luminous, beautiful and bright pale yellow, this wine offers noble and complex aromas of white fruits and honey, complemented by a lightly spicy oak. After a powerful attack, the mouth is dynamic, round, and silky. A few minutes after opening, the aromatic bouquet expands and develops to reach its fullness.
7 Plots, totalling a combined 91ares 8 ca, planted between 1940 and 2015, located around 280 and 330 meters in altitude. The slope is between 10% and 20%. Plots face southwest located on the “En Charlemagne” lieu-dit in the commune of Pernand-Vergelesses. It is said that Charlemagne gave in 775 a vast piece of vineyard on the Corton hill to the Canons of the Collegiate Church of Saulieu. The Corton-Charlemagne vineyards cover a total area of 34 hectares, spread across the communes of Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and Ladoix-Serrigny. Complex soil, clay-silty, sometimes sandy. The soil is sometimes thin, revealing the limestone banks to the surface.
