“The (2020) Extra Brut Rosé de Saignée Les Beaudiers is 100% Meunier from vines planted in 1965, 1958 and 1953. A wild, crazy wine, the Beaudiers is intensely aromatic and full of Meunier character. Dried cherry, mint, tobacco and herbs all take shape. Strong gamy notes, a touch of reduction and bold textures abound. This really needs time in the glass to open fully. The Beaudiers is not a Champagne for every palate. It requires considerable time and attention. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Disgorged: November 2023.” 2024 -2030

This Rosé de Saignée is produced with the Pinot Meunier which comes from plots situated in “Les Beaudiers”. They use traditional and cultural methods which include short pruning for a limited production; this is a manual and careful work with regular ploughing so as to obtain healthy grapes. Their know-how and the quality of the terroir make this wine unique.

100% Pinot Meunier.Terroir de Chavot. Plots planted in 1953, 1958, and 1965. Clay and silty soils, not very deep, with a little of flints and little stones. Chalky subsoils.

All of the grapes are picked by hand when at optimum ripeness, then put in a traditional press. The alcoholic fermentation with natural yeasts only in barrels. Maceration takes place between 12 and 14 hours – this is the saignee or bleeding method of rose champagne production. There no malolactic fermentation in this cuvee. The still wine ages for two years in wood – an absolute age in champagne terms – before secondary fermentation. Ageing on lees takes place for six months. All bottles are disgorged by hand with a dosage of 0.5 to 5g per litre depending on vintage.

Laherte Frères was founded in the nineteenth century with current winemaker Aurélien representing the 7th Generation. They own nine hectares of land spread over ten communes and an astonishing seventy different parcels. Vineyards are currently farmed biodynamically or are in the process of conversion. The family holdings are mainly located around Épernay, nearby Chavot (where the winery is located), Moussy and Vaudancourt. In addition, they own parcels in the Côte des Blancs and the Marne Valley. They cultivate all three main varieties with Pinot Meunier very well represented as one would expect given the local terroir. Primary ferments are mostly in wood - small barrels and foudres - with only partial malolactic and 6 months lees aging before secondary ferment. Dosage is kept low and each wine is carefully crafted to see the varieties used best exploit the estate’s patchwork of fine terroir. “These Champagnes reinforce my strongly held view that Aurélien Laherte is one of the most talented vignerons of his generation in Champagne. What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.
