Maison Sichel Selection Margaux 2020
13% abv
Red savory & classic. The tannins are quite powerful and generally concentrated with notes of blackcurrant, fig and prune. The warm summer is slightly tipping the balance, although there is a lot of Left Bank signature. Perfect with beef and venison.
From an undeclared classified estate in Margaux with a great pedigree. Margaux is an important appellation in the Haut-Médoc of Bordeaux, in the south-west of France. Situated 25 kilometres north of the city of Bordeaux, the appellation is renowned for producing supple and flavourful wines, mainly based on Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinified plot by plot, in stainless steel vats. Fermentation with temperature control around 26°- 28°c. There were 2/3 pumping overs per day during this period with on average 3 weeks of maceration. Then malolactic fermentation begins in barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, 50% of which are new. Only French oak with a soft and medium toasting and traditional racking every three months.
