The Sebestyén winery was established in 1998 in the Szekszárd region, one of Hungary’s best winemaking areas thanks to its ideal climate and boasting a history dating back to Roman times. The family-run winery produces high quality wines following the highest production standards, strict yield limitation and selection of only the best grapes. They combine ancient traditions with modern technology and knowledge of which grapes thrive in the local terroir to offer a selection of wines from both national and international varieties. Our connection to the estate dates to Csilla Sebestyen’s time as Sommelier for Scotland’s only 2 star Michelin restaurant, Andrew Fairlie.

A Kékfrankos-based blend from the valleys of Szekszárd, offering inviting cherry aromas and a fresh, lively character. Its bright acidity makes it very easy to drink, while the juicy, sour-cherry flavors keep it refreshing from start to finish. A smooth, friendly wine that’s simple to enjoy any time. Made from a selection of vines that could comprise the estate’s Bikavers.
The Seb wines are a new collaboration between Csilla and Csaba Sebestyen and Woodwinters, showcasing two blends from Szeksard that focus on the partnership of Kekfrankos and locally planted Bordeaux varieties.
Kékfrankos (Blaufrankish) 68%, Merlot 21%, Cabernet Franc 7%, Cabernet Sauvignon 4%. Hand picked grapes were selected – Fermented in open tanks between 28-30 °C, then macerated for 7 days – Aged for 28 months in used 5 hl oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.
