Tormore Legacy 2012

52.1% abv

Vol- 70cl

The Tormore Legacy 2012 is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2012 and bottled as part of the acclaimed Legacy series, representing a younger yet equally compelling chapter in this distinctive Highland range. Non-chill filtered and presented at natural colour, this expression opens with a bright and lively nose of fresh citrus zest, crisp green apple and light floral notes, underpinned by a pleasing sweetness of vanilla pod and soft barley sugar. The palate is vibrant and approachable, offering a clean, fruit-forward character — think ripe pear, peach and a touch of pineapple — balanced by gentle oak influence, creamy toffee and a subtle hint of warming ginger spice. The finish is smooth and refreshing, with a lingering sweetness and just enough oak structure to give it shape and definition.

Tormore distillery was built in 1960. Historically known as ‘the pearl of Speyside’, the beauty and uniqueness of its architectural design were recognised in 1986 when the distillery was granted listed building status. Tormore is one of the first distilleries you encounter when you travel north to Speyside. It is among one of the larger distilleries in Scotland with a capacity of just under 5 million litres of alcohol per year, providing us plenty of potential for long-term growth, along with the aged stocks that came with it. Since Elixir Distillers purchased Tormore Distillery in 2022 we have been carefully managing and documenting inherited stocks held across its many warehouses. We foresee a bright future for Tormore distillery. Our goal is to establish the reputation of Tormore on the global stage to match the special quality of the whisky. We plan to release a brand range that Scotland will be proud of. We will be refurbishing the distillery and we also plan to build a visitor centre.
