The estate’s iconic Merlot, named after a stream near to the property was first produced in 1994 – then from vines newly planted in 1988. Clay soils predominate here in the mid-slope with some stones and decomposed minerals and pink marble. An assiduous selection of only the very best bunches ripened to peak balanced maturity takes place throughout the growing season & harvest. Fermentation is in steel – a 10 day fermentation followed by 25 days maceration. The 100% new oak used for aging comes from upt to 5 tonnellerie selecting barrels specifically for the vintage. The emphasis is on multiple iterations from each so that a focussed spectrum of oak influences combine to present the fruit at its very best . Aging for 18 – 20 months in these French oak barriques is followed by a repose in bottles before release.

After purchase we will contact you to arrange either the wine's continued storage in a bonded warehouse as designated by HM Customs & Excise or for the payment of the pertinent Duty and VAT, where after delivery can be arranged. Transfer & delivery fees will be charged at cost.

Tua Rita stands as one of Tuscany’s most iconic names. Nestled on the Tyrrhenian coast, at the end of a 10km serpentine corridor of the Val di Cornia. it was the success of the estate that put this area, not previously renowned for a celebrated wine culture, in the international spotlight. Located in Suvereto, just south of the famed Bolgheri, the same coastal and stylistic DNA can be traced through the wines. The estate was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and her husband, Virgilio Bisti, and is now run by their son-in-law Stefano Frascolla and their grandson Giovanni. While the family wanted to produce the best wine they could, they did not have ambitions to create the iconic brand that it is today with over 45 hectares under vines. From their humble beginnings though, they have now created a name of international stature and become one of the few Italian wineries to have multiple 100-point wines. Legendary winemaker Luca d’Attoma, still oversees winemaking - as he has done since the early days of his career and the estate.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
