The Arran distillery was opened in 1995 at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. The island floats on the Firth of Clyde off the west coast between the Kintyre peninsula and Ayrshire. Arran has soaring hills and rugged coasts, rich farmland and dense forests, all concentrated into a compact parcel floating in the Firth of Clyde between the Ayrshire coast and the Kintyre peninsula. It’s known as ‘Scotland in miniature’, as it shares some of the characteristics of the Highlands and Lowlands, the mainland and the Western Isles.
Arran Bodega Sherry Cask
55.8% abv
Vol- 70cl
Matured in some of the finest Sherry casks available to the whisky industry. A return to the style of some of the earliest Arran Single Malt, which was mostly matured in Sherry casks. Matured for 7 years in first-fill Sherry hogsheads.
Nose – Chocolate raisins, mandarins and a hint of spice, promising a full-bodied dram.
Palate – Chewy, warm notes of ripe figs and sweet cherries, luxurious but retains finesse with a beautiful balance between the mighty Sherry Cask and the subtle Arran spirit.
Finish – Long, powerful with a touch of pink pepper, hazelnuts and toasted oak. Statuesque and elegant.
